How is this even possible that Mitchell is 14???  Such a fine young man he is turning into.  :)

Cleat Season

It's soccer season!!!!  Time to get those cleats muddy and the legs in running mode.  The boys are both on the travel team again with Coach Walters.  Lucy is on a team again with her best friends.  It makes for a fun season.

The boys played in Bellaire yesterday, splitting their two games.  The Rogers Wall of Defense made its presence known in the games.

Lucy motored around the field, and scored a goal after following up on a friend's missed attempt.  Her team came away with a tie yesterday.

First Day, Version 2016

This summer I had to switch classrooms.  That was made more interested by the fact that pretty much both arms were on the Do Not Use list.  Thankfully, the kids helped me get my room ready.

The 2016-17 school year finds the Rogers' kids in 8th, 6th, and 4th grades. I am still running a Resource Room for kids with special needs.  The boys are both up in the Jr./Sr. High building, and Lucy and I are holding our own in the K-5 building.

Lucy Jane Rogers, starring as the 4th grader.
Owen Rogers, in the role of 6th grader.
Mitchell Rogers, starring as the lone teenager of the house, 8th grader.

This year's shoes (who am I kidding???).  The current shoes.
I didn't get a new back pack this year, but I did get a new car.  No more mini-van!

Rogers and Friends at Play

Our summer was blessed with many "at home" days with hours of outside play.  Weather was good, and we had lots of pool time too.  Sometimes our friends even got to join us.  Other days we snuck away to have some fun putt-putt golfing or go-kart racing.

Blue Lake

Both Mitchell and Owen had the huge opportunity to attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp this summer to play their instruments.  What an amazing experience for both the kids and the parents!  The boys LOVED their time there, and we the parents were stunned by the musical performances on the last day.  It was beyond words.  I think we are all hoping we can make this the first year of many that they attend.

Headed to Camp!

Post-performance smile!
We visited the Blue Lake Instrument Museum  between performances.
