Eggs, Avocados, Rolls, and More

I had Friday off of work, but Ken pulled a double shift at Caberfae. So to break up the afternoon, Grammy came over to help the boys and I color Easter eggs. It was fun, though I think Owen was more amused by splashing and stirring the colored water than what it did to the eggs. Picture your own scenario on that. Here they are, in all of their color!

In the last few weeks Lucy has been enjoying bananas. Tonight at dinner she expanded her culinary horizons with the introduction of avocados. She was very excited and enjoyed every bite. This was Owen's favorite when he was little... but tonight when he asked for a spoonful, it came right back out like a green waterfall.

On other notes, Lucy rolled front to back twice today! The first time she rolled was in her crib. There were no witnesses, but her being on her back when we picked her up was all the evidence we needed. This evening when she did it again, her brothers and I were present....Big cheers for Lucy! I think the boys were so inspired, they felt they needed to roll around too. Here they are romping in Mitchell's bedroom.

(Rollie-Pollie Boys?)

Today all 3 kids showed signs of being sick... I am sure the next few days will not be fun. I am going to start popping Airbornes left and right and try to maintain my germ-free bubble. Even though she's feeling under the weather, here is sweet Miss Lucy, being entertained by her feet. They are so fun.

Just for Jen ... or Just for Kicks?

Jen's been giving me a hard time at work, saying I need to put up more pictures. So here we go. Get your fix while you can! :)

We've been busy making plans for Lucy's baptism next month. Mom brought over the gowns that Ruth (and also Dad) and I wore to see if one of them would fit Lucy. It looks like either one will work, so now the decision of which one has to be made.... There are valid sentimental reasons for each. Maybe I should take votes. Here is what I looked like a long time ago.... uncanny resemblance to Miss Lucy(or maybe the other way around).

Chiquita Bananas... or Banana Soup?

Miss Lucy Jane is now 5 months old. We helped her celebrate by introducing her to bananas over the weekend. She has been drooling over us for several weeks, tracking the forks and spoons as we feed ourselves. She was very excited.... grabbed onto the spoon and helped pull it into her mouth, other times she waved around in her eagerness, as if flagging in the planes. Of course her brothers wanted to watch it all and took great joy in her new milestone.

Lucy has also found her feet recently. Oh such fun they bring! She also enjoyed playing with Owen here in his room. They are good buddies, even though Owen sometimes gets a little crazy with her. Good to know she's already sticking up for herself!

On other fronts, Ken and I took the boys skiing again Sunday. It was a glorious sunny day. We all had a really nice time. Owen woke up the next day saying "Towpants. More ski." It looks like we've made a favorable impression on his young self.

Marching Forward... or Stumbling with Fatigue

Owen decided to "get up" at 4am this morning and turn on his lights!!!!! We may not have known except for Lucy needed a feeding at 4:30 and I heard Owen babbling downstairs. Mitchell apparently heard his brother and was rustling around too. This does not bode well for the day. Owen and I "discussed" the need for more sleep and I left. I have no idea if he actually went back to sleep or not, but I wasn't waiting to find out. Judging from his manic behavior the rest of the day, I'd bet not.
Today I didn't have school due to icy roads, so the kids and I played at home. Thank goodness for the roads, as we were all too tired for our own good. We had a visit from Grammy to help break up the day, and that was very nice for everyone. Here are the boys thoroughly enjoying her presence.

Lucy has been sick since Thursday. She's had a nasty cough and stuffy nose. This is the first stretch that I would say she's been cranky for any length of time, but I suppose she is entitled. She is also teething quite a bit...I wouldn't be surprised if we see her first chomper arrive soon. She started to perk up today, and here she is again, ready to share her smiles.

And if you couldn't tell from her Cubs attire, she and I are both ready for baseball season!
