Lucy went to see Dr. Kevin regarding allergies/abnormally large tonsils. We have new meds, so we'll see if that helps the breathing.
While there, she measured at 33 and 1/4 inches tall, and 26 pounds.

Splish Splash!
We are off to the races with another week in the Rogers' house. Both boys had swimming lessons again tonight. They both return happy and hungry.
Lucy and I enjoyed another evening to ourselves while the boys were out. All she did was eat nonstop, pausing only long enough to take a bath. She will see Dr. Kevin later this week in regards to her unfortunately genetic allergies and abnormally large tonsils.... This is Lucy modeling her early birthday gifts from Aunt Ruthie. Once she put it on she refused to take the coat off until bedtime. A very recent new skill--she can say Mitchell's name (or Mit-toe). He is very happy about this.

Sweet Miss Lucy

As usual the return to school has been busy, but good. Mitchell and Owen started swimming lessons up this week (first for Owen) and they were very excited. Owen didn't want to leave at the end, and clung to Miss Mary in the pool saying he never wanted to leave. Ken has some pictures on his cell phone, but we'll try to take others next week.
While the boys were at swimming lessons with Daddy, I got some quality Lucy time. It was a ball... literally! We played in the sandbox and on the deck and I chased Miss Lucy all around. I think I could get used to this!

School Bells Ringing, Children Singing
I think I will forever hear Dad's voice singing that song to me each fall; no matter what kind of day it might wind up being, each time I try to sum it up I think of that song.Mitchell was eager to go this morning and he had a great first day of first grade. While I didn't get to see him right away (he got done at noon and went to daycare), he had nothing but smiles when I picked him up at 4. Things are good when you have friends in your class and the exact same backpack that your good buddy. YAY!
Owen is having a rough spell--lots of nightmares lately. Not sure how to alleviate his concerns that a giant bunny that zaps him is not actually outside his window.
Lucy continues to grow and talk nonstop. When I asked if she was my baby girl she said no. I asked if she was my little girl and she again said no. Then I asked her if she was my big girl and she says "yeah!"...all this from a girl who will turn 2 in just a month.

Cornfield
It was perfect. Lots of nothing, and just the right amount of something. Short enough that I didn't throttle any of the kids, and long enough to have me anxious about the return to work. Here are a few from today.

Tomorrow starts year 9 for me at Mesick. It is also Mitchell's first day of first grade. I think we are both nervous and excited. I am sure I will have more pictures tomorrow with the big day--I will continue the tradition of the 1st day of school picture that my mom had us do every year... except now I am on the right side of the camera!
