Summertime Summertime

Last week was yet another busy week here. We started by taking all 3 kids to Dr. Anderson's office. 2 came away with the diagnosis of ear infections, 1 with relentless allergies. After antibiotics and a week of new meds, we are a much healthier/happier group now.

We finally had some warmer weather here; enough that the boys were able to run in the sprinkler a few times, much to their delight! They are avid bikers and runners. They have developed some interesting racing games, and enjoy playing "paytoll" with Mommy. Besides that, they are each getting more interested in playing catch and batting balls from the T.

Lucy has a new skill--CLAPPING! It is so fun. She is really very proud of herself, but her brothers are even more thrilled! They clap for her and she copies back. They give her kisses each time she does. She also has figured out how to bang both of her legs at the same time. I will have to try to capture that on video and show you--she bounces her whole mattress when she does it. Here she is on one of the cooler days we've had, dressed in an outfit from Bainbridge Island (Thanks Aunt Ruthie!). The hat was perfect for the chilly day.

Cold and Rainy Fest, Revisited

This summer is sure looking to be a repeat of the "Cold and Rainy Festival" of years past. This week is is supposed to be in the 60s for highs several days.... rain chances most of the next 7 days. Looks like the kids and I better get ready for some "quality" indoor time.

Current events in and around the Rogers' house:
  1. Lucy is rolling, and rolling, and rolling.
  2. Lucy is sitting well, unassisted.
  3. Lucy is going to go to boot camp and teach the army folks how to do a proper commando crawl, at like 10 mph.
  4. Lucy is getting her knees underneath her at times. I am sure rocking will follow.
  5. Owen is in the midst of potty training... some days he loves it, other days not so much (coincidentally, those are also the days Mommy doesn't like it so much either).
  6. Owen officially was accepted into the Headstart Preschool program at my school for next year. YAY!
  7. Mitchell goes in for his hearing/vision check tomorrow in preparation for KINDERGARTEN in the fall! Can you believe it?!?!?!
  8. Mitchell and Owen are becoming quite the Cubs fans (is there any other way to be, really?). They always ask who is pitching, specifically about Carlos Zambrano, as well as if they are getting hits and runs. They make their Mommy proud!
Here they are in all their glory in the last few days.

Lucy, again, being lovely...

This is Owen, saying "Not want camer". Owen and Mitchell, sharing a hug.

Cup Runneth Over

There were some pretty significant rain storms and even tornadoes in the Cadillac area last night. Several places recorded over 6 inches of rain in just a few hours. A few even had over 10 inches!!! While here in Boon we sit on a hill and there is not much chance for flooding, over at 160 Lakewood it was a different story! Mom woke up to quite the sight in her yard.

Here you can see the water withing feet of the stairs to the deck.

Here is the road into the subdivision, right past the clubhouse.
As you can see, the parking lots on both sides of the road were submerged.

Here's to some drier weather coming our way...we can cross our fingers!

Who are these cute kids?????

Look at these wonderful (and very photogenic) kids! We've been having lots of quality Mommy time now that I am done with school, and for the most part we are surviving each other. :)

In this one, Lucy is wearing an outfit that I wore once upon a time ago.

Here are the boys, still loving their sister Lucy.
They are very proud each time they get a chance to hold her.

3 Months of Saturdays!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I am officially done with school for the year! I have 3 long months of Saturdays to look forward to. And for those of you who don't know, when school starts up in the fall, I will be teaching 3rd Grade.

The kids and I are home enjoying thunderstorms on our first day of summer vacation together. While 2 are napping, I am trying to catch up on posting among many other tasks. Here is Owen a few weeks ago when Uncle Matt caught some "painfully" funny video of him. It's right out of one of the blooper shows.

Hopefully the rest of our summer is a little more calm. :)
