Blazing into the New Year

Wow! 2010 is off to a busy start. Before returning to school, Mitchell turned 7. We took the boys bowling that day and they wiped the lanes with their Dad.

We've had a week back at school and it has not been without drama. Job switches/transfers are on the horizon once again (mid-year) as many teachers are retiring at semester. Oy! Just when I was getting the hang of things I have a potential move again...we shall see what really happens.

We capped off the week with style, however, with a celebratory sledding party for Mitchell and his friends. The day was gorgeous! Sunny and not horribly windy or freezing, so the kids could play outside for more than 2 seconds. They seemed to have loads of fun. Once they came in we had hot chocolate, opened presents, and had ice cream cone cakes (with sprinkles, of course!).

Today was another beauty, so we took the boys skiing for the first time of the year. I was super impressed! Mitchell is doing really well on his own. Owen is stopping on his own and doing well using an edgy-wedgy on his skis. The snow snakes only grabbed onto them once today! It was smiles all around. This day was topped off with a bonus (unplanned) dinner with Grammy Baleiko.

Needless to say, we have much to be thankful for!
