Our school really does a fantastic job of making Halloween special. The whole "downtown" of Mesick shuts down, and they have police directing and stopping traffic, and each classroom K-4 marches around town Trick-or-Treating in their costumes. It is something that I am sure crosses every line of separation of church and state or religion in schools, but it is just fabulous. So today, we of course took the kids through the parade to collect all their goodies. This was Owen's first real attempt at this, and he sure seemed to be in state of disbelief that he was actually getting all this candy. After the parade and a brief time at home, we went out for the house-to-house candy collecting. By the end of the night, Owen was into saying Trick-or-Treat, thank you, and bye! Both boys collected a ~ridiculous~ amount of loot. It was great to see them have so much fun.
