Musical Christmas

The boys each had their band Christmas concerts this week.  The Mesick Bulldog Bands did not disappoint!  It was a treat to see all of their practice pay off, and to hear all of the pieces put together.

Applesauce and Soup

Owen lost 2 teeth in one day this week, only to lose another the next day!  He'll be eating applesauce for a while until his smile fills in.  ;)

Stuffed Full of Fun

We headed in to Naperville for part of Thanksgiving break; it did not disappoint!  We stuffed our hours full of family fun (and food!).
We started at the arcade at the Brunswick Zone. The Hallowells merged with us for lots of games.  Uncle Bo was just as excited as our kids!

The kids loaded up with tons of prizes (mostly of the candy variety).

After the arcade fun we headed back to Anderson Drive for some quality pool time.  The boys took on numerous opponents, but were left in awe of Cousin Matt's skill.  He was definitely channeling the Giddings Street Garage juju!

Some of us remained spectators throughout.

When the battle rounds were completed, some excellent coaching took place.

The trip would not be complete without poker,

Or Fridaes and Saturdaes.

Off to a Good Start

7th grade has been good for Mitchell.  He is really turning into a fine young man.  His teachers are taking note, too.  Mitchell received the Student of the Month award for October.  He was recognized at last night's board meeting.

A Decade in the Making

Owen turned 10 this year!  There was no shortage of friends, fun, or noise when we got the chance to celebrate.

The final present was wrapped with extra care... In a bag,

under balloons,

in bubble wrap,
and finally in a box he found a furry friend!

Pumpkin Chucking

The post-Halloween launch never fails to amuse!  The Chickens enjoyed the pumpkin purée.

8 is Gr8!!!

Lucy Lou turned 8 on October 8, and what a grand event it was!  One of the first items on her list was celebrated by pulling her booster seat out of the car. 🚘
The next method of celebration was the sharing of cupcakes--tie-dye cupcakes--with her third grade class.

After school, Grandma B stopped by with treasures-- including a big chair for the desk in her room.

The hardest part was waiting until Friday to celebrate with her friends. It was so worth the wait!  They had pizza, opened presents, had cake, and played, played, played.

What a gr8 day!
