Chicago, Chicago

The Baleikos, Friedmans, and Rogers headed in to the Windy City via train today.  The Rogers kids have never been to downtown Chicago before, so when we exited Union Station they were instantly amazed (the Friedmans thought it was pretty cool too).

After we arrived we got to take a water taxi closer to the Mag Mile.

From there we went to The Bean:

After The Bean, we went to Maggie Daley Park and it's ridiculously huge playground.

The kids all loved the slides and climbing, but also enjoyed challenging their own arm and grip strength as they tried to swing the span of the bridge.

After all the playground fun, we caught the water taxi heading back to Union Station.

As we headed back up the river,  the passage narrowed because a crane that was built out into the river.  Our taxi's path was blocked by a pontoon boat that was dead in the water.  Our captain switched gears and we became a tug boat, pulling them off to the side and out of the way.   Then we were able to proceed again...  And just in time for us to make our train! Yay!

The cousins enjoyed sitting upstairs....

but Kris had particular window needs, so she sat wayyyyyy over there.  ;)

The day finished up at Anderson Drive for more cousin fun and festivities.  And Wednesdaes, because who doesn't need ice cream after such a fun and busy day?
