Today Owen's and the rest of the first graders had their end-of-the-year field trip. In the morning, we went to the Great Lakes Children's Museum.
| Owen and I both could have stayed at the water table the whole time. It was very fun! |
After lunch, we got back on the bus and headed to Moomer's. The trip included a wagon ride around the farm, and stops at the barn to see where and how the cows get milked. We also got the low-down on how the owner cares for cows, and Owen got to be the model for a demonstration on how Mr. Plummer gives medicines to cows. After that, we got to see a calf. Then it was back up to the shop, and once the kids cleaned up, they got the scoop from Mrs. Plummer on how the ice cream is made.
| Bob Plummer, teaching the 1st graders about how many stomachs cows have, and how much they eat. |
| Nancy Plummer, giving the ins and outs of ice-cream-making. |
And what trip would be complete without trying the ice cream?????
