Memorial Day 5K

We had visitors from the West Coast joining us for the day, and what a fabulous day it was! Uncle Matt and Aunt Ruthie were kept very busy by the two Rogers boys. If the social director got it all right, I believe that they:

• Had grass fights
• Ran ~numerous~ laps around the house
• Flew a kite
• Rode bikes
• Swung on the swing set
  
• Ran back and forth on the deck (sometimes crashing into the railing)
• Read books
• Rode the wagon down the hill
• Ran through the sprinkler

...and that was all before dinner! Needless to say that was a great amount of activity, and it was not without injury. Here we had the band-aid checkpoint. Even Grammy was among the wounded (man, Ken's knives were sharp!).

















Lucy enjoyed her first quality interaction with green grass between her toes. We also got to pull out the blue swing for her, and she loved her maiden voyage! Owen even stopped long enough to push her in the swing. Such fun! She also had a good time grabbing and chewing on the plates and silverware at the table. That new tooth of hers needs to be put to the test.

A good day was had by all...

... in the end, we were all dog tired :)
