Growing and Climbing

We've had some nice warmer weather this week and last night we had some corn on the cob. We believe it was Lucy's maiden voyage with it on the cob. She was hesitant at first, but with help, she eased into it. By the end of dinner we had to pry the ear of corn out of her hands.

Lucy is also boasting a new skill (cringe). The other day she up and decided she was going to climb into the dinner chairs and did so like it was routine. We'll have video to follow...

We ordered a "real" big boy bed for Owen just after spring break, and as of tonight, he sleeps in his new twin sized bed. It's decked out with green sheets (go figure).

A beautiful day for a tractor ride!

Lucy and a friend went to the "Rainbow Park" at daycare today and they had lots of fun on the tractor. Apparently Lucy became a bit of a backseat driver. heheheheheh

I'm sure she's telling him just how he's supposed to be driving...

Oooooooo.....that's gotta hurt!

We were out enjoying the sunny day today; there was much outside playtime. Unfortunately, Lucy took a tumble on the concrete and wound up with a fat lip. There was a fair amount of bleeding involved but in her usual manner, she shook it off quickly. She continued good cheer once Daddy quit trying to clean her up. Here she is modeling her fat lip (among other things).

St. Pat's

Last weekend the Michigan Baleikos converged in the Chicago area with one of our favorite Seattle architects to go to a function at Dad's high school, St. Pat's. It was very nice to see his old haunt; you could invision all the mischief. Afterwards we were escorted to downtown Chicago by our own P-TAPs (personal travel assistance planner) Amanda for some quality shoe shopping. The evening was capped of by a Loyola men's volleyball game, featuring one Matt Baleiko! It was amazing, and ended victoriously for the Ramblers.

The next day we again shopped midday, then met up with the Hallowell clan again for dinner and the show Curtains. Very funny. All in all a wonderful weekend.

Photo Ops

No recent photos of the kids, but some goodies from spring break that we didnt post. We are on the final stretch of school--only 18 and a half days left to go!

Motor Mouth

Lucy has begun jabbering nonstop. Ken and I made a list of all of her words and it is mind boggling. Her favorites of late are: mine, ride, bike, and outside. Thankfully, we had some fabulous weather last week so we were able to get outside and ride bikes.

Owen is loving books and making great strides at school. He likes to write his name and is doing well with it. He has recently fallen in love with Yoda.

The boys (all of them) engrosssed in the movie Wall-E today.

Mitchell is still reading reading reading. Its very fun. We've started to read part of a chapter book together at bedtime each night. He has a few more weeks left in swimming lessons, which is a major highlight in his life right now. The Kindergarten class has their big showcase this week so that should be good for some photo ops.

Ken is already back to work on the golf course. He is ready for golf league to start in early May.

I am excited because a grant that I helped write was approved. This week we'll have Michigan Author Kevin Kammeraad present to the kids at school thanks to the funding of the grant.
